My Big Book Deal — How I Signed With Penguin Random House!

I’m thrilled to share the most exciting news of my author career. I’ve signed a two book deal with publishing director Claire Simmonds of Century, Penguin Random House!

Dream Come True

I’ve been a huge fan of Penguin books since I was old enough to borrow them from a library, and signing as one of their authors is a dream come true. The idea for The Ice Angels has been simmering away for years, and the story was formed long before it reached the page. When I took it to my agent, Madeleine Milburn, I knew that my lead detective, Elea Baker, was in the very best of hands. It was such an exciting time when the book went out on submission and the offers began coming through from publishers. I was walking down Lincoln high street when my agent updated me by email. It was a warm sunny day and I was with my husband as I read it on my phone. I was so happy I stood there crying happy tears among the crowds of shoppers passing by. My husband did the only thing he could do in such a situation and that was to usher me into the lovely Cornhill area and buy fizz and a meal to celebrate.
